KeepCup Care

KeepCup is the barista standard cup that started the reuse revolution. A drafted vessel for the perfect pour with a cup lip designed for drinking pleasure, it’s lovely to drink from – lid on or off.

Made to be loved and looked after and designed for easy cleaning and care.

Using your Press lid

To assemble:

Hold press fit lid in one hand and plug in the other.

Sit plug on central screw fitment in lid aligned to plug start position.

Turn clockwise until plug is in closed position covering drinking hole, press to seal.

Press lid in use:

To open, gently lift up the plug tab from the seal then turn anticlockwise until it sits in open position while you drink.

  • Designed for drinking pleasure on the go, the press lid is not fully sealed, but is a splashproof sipper lid. It has a breather hole to release steam build up and pressure allows optimum liquid flow when drinking. For this reason, we recommend you don’t carry in your bag when it has liquid in it.
  • The plug, which covers the mouthpiece when not in use, rotates easily for drinking in transit to prevent spills.
  • We recommend you wait 30 seconds after pouring boiling water before putting your lid on, to allow steam release.
  • To avoid steam build-up, keep the plug in the open position for all hot drinks over 65°C / 149°F.
  • Use the lid tab to lift it off the cup, and two hands to press lid firmly and evenly on.

Cleaning and care:

  • Do not microwave lid.
  • For daily use, wash the plug as part of the lid. The plug can be easily removed for a more thorough clean.
  • Dishwasher safe on the top rack. We recommend placing small components such as plugs in cutlery tray or basket, so they do not become damaged or lost.
  • Reassemble press lid after cleaning. Store lid off.
  • If your cup starts to leak from the lid rim, run your lid through the dishwasher on top rack and allow to cool and air dry completely. Often the lid will bounce back into shape. If you don’t have a dishwasher, submerge in boiling water for 5-10 mins, and allow to cool and air dry.

Keep your Brew like new

KeepCup Brew is made from durable tempered glass designed to enjoy the craft and sensory pleasure of coffee on the go. When using, please consider:

  • Microwave glass cup with the lid off to a maximum temperature of 100 °C / 212 °F.
  • Caution: Rapid temperature change or heating over 100 °C / 212 °F may cause the glass cup to shatter. You cannot heat liquids in the microwave above boiling point, or put a cold cup in boiling water or microwave.
  • Designed to be taken apart for easy cleaning.
  • Dishwasher safe on the top rack. We recommend placing small components such as plugs and silicone band in cutlery tray or basket, so they do not become damaged or lost.
  • Please note: If water gets under the band during washing, it can slide down the cup. For best results, use a dry band on a dry cup.

Keep your Cork cruisy

Your Cork band is a recovered material, a by-product of wine cork production. When using, please consider:

  • Due to the production method and cork being a natural material, there can be slight variances in colour, height and width of the band. As a result, band fitment will vary - some can be moved slightly on the cup, and some may fit tightly with no movement. Both are fit for purpose as intended, to protect your hand from heat when holding.
  • For longevity, we advise hand washing only and do not remove the cork band. Repeated dishwashing will cause the band to become discoloured and stretched.
  • Please treat your cork bands with care, especially when fitting it to your glass. Over time, the cork band will form a tight bond with the glass cup.
  • Do not microwave cork band.

If you need to remove your band, avoid breakage with these steps:

Place the cup on a flat surface, upside down.

Using your fingertips, gently massage the cork band upwards while rotating the glass, keeping the band at an even height.

Wash and leave to dry in the sunshine.

To put the band back on the cup, follow these instructions:

Place the cork band on a flat surface with the inside grove at the top. Take the glass and place inside of the cork band.

Using both hands, lift the band upward until you feel it grip on the glass. Gently massage the band upward, rotating the glass keeping the band at an even height.

Stop once you feel that the grove in the cork band has slipped over the shoulder of the glass.

Fill with liquid, press on lid on firm surface.

Keep your Wood good

Your Wood band is a recovered organic material, a byproduct of timber manufacturing. When using, please consider:

  • There can be slight variances in complexion (texture and colour), as well as the height and width of the band, because it’s a natural material. As a result, band fitment will vary – some will fit tightly and some may have minor movement. Both are fit for the intended purpose of the band, to protect your hand from heat.
  • For longevity, we recommend wiping clean with a damp cloth when required, and to remove from the glass cup prior to washing - you can replace the band once the glass cup is dry, ready for its next use.
  • To remove the Wood band, place the cup upside down on a flat surface and use your fingertips to pull the band up and off the cup.
  • To fit the Wood band, simply slide the Wood band onto glass cup and it will 'clack' into place.
  • Do not microwave with the wood band.
  • If for some reason the wood band becomes waterlogged and loosens, remove the band from the cup, and leave it in a sunny spot and allow to dry out thoroughly in the sun.

Keep your Thermal eternal

KeepCup Thermal is made from stainless steel and double walled vacuum insulated, designed to keep your drink hot (or cold) for longer. When using, please consider:

  • Do not microwave.
  • Designed to be taken apart for easy cleaning.
  • Handwash only recommended to preserve surface finish.
  • A vacuum seal sucks the air from twin walls of stainless steel, providing thermal insulation and ensuring it is not too hot or too cold when holding. If the vacuum seal is punctured or damaged, the cup may become hot to touch with hot liquids.
  • Freezing temperatures can damage vacuum sealed insulation (the vacuum insulation acts to prevent temperature transfer to liquid inside when sealed anyway). To carry the coldest of contents in your insulated KeepCup Thermal, fill with ice and enjoy.
